If your dog is more than four months old, it must be vaccinated against rabies and be licensed with King & Queen County.
Dog tags may be purchased at the Treasurer’s Office or the King & Queen/King William Regional Animal Shelter and must be renewed annually by February 1st. Animal licenses cost $5 for a male/female/or unsexed dog(s), $25.00 for a kennel of no more than 20 dogs, and $35.00 for a kennel of up to 50 dogs. Valid rabies vaccinations for each dog must be shown at the time of purchase.
If a dog license is lost, destroyed or stolen, the owner or custodian should apply for a duplicate license tag. An original license receipt must be presented, and the number of the duplicate tag and date of issue will be endorsed on the original receipt. The fee for a duplicate tag for any dog is $1.00.
